Dragonfly Healing and Learning Center
Since having her daughter in 2016, Heather realized that a traditional public school setting would not be the best fit for her and began thinking outside the box to create a learning environment tailored to the students she most enjoyed working with. That vision became Dragonfly Healing and Learning Center. Dragonfly Healing & Learning Center is a members-only (PMA/PEA) faith-based nonprofit learning center (508c1A). Spirituality is very important to Heather, and she strives to incorporate it throughout the day. The center supports homeschooling families and is located on Heather’s peaceful little farm in Butte Valley, where she also practices and teaches Animal Reiki among many animals.
Through her own healing journey, personal growth, and experience in education, Heather honors how precious childhood is. She is passionate about meeting children where they are, not where others think they “should” be. She focuses on building relationships and cultivating mindfulness, play, collaboration, and creativity as essential life skills. Heather weaves these values together using animals, music, essential oils, and her naturally nurturing presence. With a heart-centered approach to each child and animal, Heather meets them where they are and supports them in what they need—and she loves every moment of it!

Hello! I’m Heather. I enjoy hiking, yoga, reading, going to brunch, sitting by the pool/lake/creek/river, being around animals and learning new things especially related to parenting and teaching.
I began my education as an educator and taught elementary and secondary education for many years in Butte and Humboldt County. I received my B.A.’s in English Education and French, Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Single Subject Teaching Credential in English and primary French. I then received my Master’s of Teaching degree. In high school I took a Reiki 1 class with my mom. Years later, I realized something was missing and began my Holy Fire Reiki journey and am a Usui Holy Fire Reiki Ryoho Master, Holy Fire III Karuna Master, Holy Fire Animal Reiki Master Teacher and have completed level 1 & 2 of Crystal Reiki.
